Watch as Lourdes Gurriel Jr. sets a Toronto Blue Jays record for longest multi-hit streak.

As the Toronto Blue Jays sell off veteran pieces ahead of the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is giving fans a reason to be excited about the present.

Thanks to a pair of singles in Saturday’s game against the Chicago White Sox, Gurriel set a Blue Jays record with his 10th straight multi-hit game. He’s also the first rookie since 1911 to accomplish the feat.

Gurriel entered play Saturday slashing .308/.328/.504 with seven home runs. For the month of July he boasts a batting average over .400 and OPS north of 1.100.
