The Toronto Blue Jays have signed OF Jason Lane and INF Brandon Fahey to minor league contracts for 2009, with an invite to spring training.
Lane, 32, appeared in 110 games between Scranton and Pawtucket last season, posting a .233 avg. with 18 home runs and 60 RBI. The 6-2, 210 lb. right-handed hitter, has played in 497 major league games, primarily for the Houston Astros , batting .241 with 61 home runs and 189 RBI. He belted a career high 26 home runs in 2005.
Fahey, 28, posted a .226 average with nine doubles, two triples and 12 RBI in 58 games this past season. The Dallas, Texas native has spent all three seasons of his career with the Baltimore Orioles posting a .224 average with two home runs and 36 RBI.
