Jeopardy turns Bautista bat flip into clue, but makes key mistake

Sportsnet Central's Caroline Cameron re-lives the scene in Vancouver when Jose Bautista hit the home run and the bat flip that was felt Canada-wide, coast to coast.

Jose Bautista’s bat flip really is the gift that keeps on giving. Almost two years have passed and we’re still talking about it.

Even Jeopardy is not immune to its magic.

The popular game show featured a question on Wednesday night about the signature moment for the Toronto Blue Jays slugger.

Read that over one more time. Did you catch the mistake?

The Bautista’s bat flip didn’t occur in 2016. It happened the year before, in Game 5 of the American League Division Series against the Texas Rangers.

We’ll still give props to the show for including the clue, though. It’s not every day you hear someone tell host Alex Trebek, “Who are the Toronto Blue Jays.”
