Tigers bring Jones off of DL

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

DETROIT — Reliever Todd Jones was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Friday by the Detroit Tigers.

Jones, on the DL since July 31 because of right shoulder inflammation, is 4-1 with a 5.05 ERA and 18 saves in 21 chances.

He began the season as Detroit’s closer, but was removed from that role on July 26.
