All sports fans handle the grief of losing their team’s favourite player differently.

In recent years, the norm has become burning jerseys — like Islanders’ fans did recently while struggling to cope with the departure of former captain John Tavares.

While perhaps perceived as mildly irrational, losing a beloved player is never an easy thing for any passionate sports fan to handle. But sometimes, on rare occasions, that grief can also bring out the best in us.

That seems to be the case for this Seattle Mariners fan, who took things to a whole new level with his fake jersey-burning tribute video to James Paxton after the pitcher was traded to the New York Yankees this off-season.
