Morosi on Blue Jays’ Stroman: He really has a sense of the moment

MLB insider Jon Paul Morosi talks about USA’s WBC title reviving American interest in this tourney, and how Marcus Stroman was able to persevere and add to his big-game resume.

Marcus Stroman’s shoulder shimmy during Wednesday night’s World Baseball Classic championship is another example of the right-hander feeling comfortable on the grand stage, says Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

“He really does have a sense of the moment,” Morosi said Thursday on The Starting Lineup on Sportsnet 590 The FAN. “He seemed totally at ease. You saw his body language — a little shimmy in the shoulders. He glared over at the Puerto Rican dugout at one point in time. He was ready for this game.”

Stroman allowed just one hit over six-plus innings in Team USA’s 8-0 win over Puerto Rico and was named tournament MVP. It adds to the list of big-game performances on the resume of the Toronto Blue Jays right-hander, said Morosi.

“He really does a good job of feeling like at any given time he’s on the field, he’s the most confident, best athlete on the field.”
