BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Orioles have placed right-handed reliever Darren O’Day on the 10-day disabled list with a hyperextended elbow.

The move is retroactive to May 6. The sidearmer last pitched on Friday in Oakland, allowing two hits and a run in 1 2/3 innings.

O’Day is 0-1 with a 3.77 ERA and two saves over 13 games this season. The 35-year-old has also blown two saves for the Orioles, who entered play Wednesday with a major-league worst 8-27 record.

To fill the void in their depleted bullpen, the Orioles recalled left-hander Tanner Scott from Triple-A Norfolk.
