Orioles players get stuck in Toronto elevator

Aledmys Diaz homered and then walked off the Orioles with the game-winning hit in the 10th as the Blue Jays won 8-7.

To say 2018 has been an ugly year for the Baltimore Orioles would be a massive understatement.

With an MLB-worst 28-70 record, the Orioles are on pace to win less than 50 games this season. Baltimore also just traded away its best player in Manny Machado, with more moves expected prior to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Orioles, members of the team got stuck in an elevator on the heels of an extra-innings loss to the Toronto Blue Jays Friday night.

The Orioles ended up having fun with the situation, with centre-fielder Adam Jones documenting the experience on his Instagram account.

Nothing says bonding like being confined in an uncomfortable, tiny space. Perhaps this is the type of team-building exercise that Baltimore needed to spark more on-field success.
