KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A National Weather Service meteorologist says steady rain and northwest winds of 20-30 mph are expected for Game 3 of the AL Championship Series in Kansas City on Monday night.

Barry Davis on Twitter: “Not looking good at all for game 3 of the #ALCS tonight. Raining now and forecast says 100% of heavy rain and wind from 7pm-3am CT”

Meteorologist Jared Leighton of the NWS office in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, says rain was expected to lighten slightly Monday afternoon before giving way to stronger precipitation that will start a few hours before the scheduled 7:07 p.m. CDT first pitch and continue until around midnight.

Leighton says he doesn’t expect heavy rain, but winds gusting up to 40 mph and steadily falling precipitation will make for dismal conditions.

Kansas City leads the series 2-0 and is scheduled to host the next three games in the best-of-7 series.
