ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Rays have designated reliever Josh Lueke for assignment and recalled right-hander Kirby Yates from Triple-A Durham.

The moves were made before Saturday’s game against Seattle.

Lueke went 1-2 with a 5.64 ERA in 25 games.

This is Yates’ first major league call up. He was 1-0 with a 0.36 ERA and converted all 16 save opportunities this season for Durham.
