Sanchez was traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Houston Astros on July 31. The Astros placed the right-handed pitcher on the 10-day injured list on Aug. 21 with right pectoral soreness.
In September, the Astros announced that Sanchez would undergo shoulder surgery and miss the remainder of the 2019 season. The injury is expected to keep him from being ready to start the 2020 season, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.
Source: The Astros are non-tendering RHP Aaron Sanchez. Not a surprise given that a shoulder injury is expected to prevent him from being ready for the start of the 2020 season.
