The Toronto Blue Jays are among the teams that have interest in recently-released infielder Brett Lawrie, according to ESPN’s Jim Bowden.
Lawrie was placed on release waivers by the Chicago White Sox on March 3 after playing just one season in the Windy City in which he slashed .248/.310/.413 with 12 homers and 36 RBIs in 94 games.
The Langley, B.C., native played four seasons in Toronto before being dealt to the Oakland Athletics as part of the trade that sent Josh Donaldson to the Blue Jays in November 2014.
