The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zack Godley off waivers.

Relief pitcher David Paulino, acquired in the Roberto Osuna trade last summer, was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.

The 29-year-old Godley played all five of his MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks before being designated for assignment on Aug. 4. Godley owns a 6.39 ERA and a 1.526 WHIP, along with a 3-5 record over 76 innings in 2019, mostly in relief.

He was a 10th-round pick out of the University of Tennessee with the Chicago Cubs in 2013.

Godley will be eligible for arbitration in the next off-season.
