The Toronto Blue Jays have made “competitive” offers for pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu and former Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion, per Jon Heyman of the MLB Network.

Ryu and Encarnacion, who are both free agents, have been linked to Toronto recently. Heyman reported that the Blue Jays seemed to be “very serious” about Ryu, while there’s been “mutual interest” with Encarnacion this winter.

Ryu, 32, posted a career-best 2.32 ERA with a 14-5 record and 1.007 WHIP in 182.2 innings of work this past season.

Encarnacion, 36, batted .244/.344/.531 with 34 home runs and 86 RBI in 109 games split between the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees in 2019.
