Report: Blue Jays sign international pitching prospect Eric Pardinho

Chris Sale struck out 11 batters and the Boston Red Sox cruised past the Toronto Blue Jays on Canada Day.

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed international pitching prospect Eric Pardinho, according to a report.

The five-foot-10, 155-pound native of Lucelia, Sao Paulo is ranked the No. 5 international prospect on MLB Pipeline.

A right-handed pitcher, Pardinho is armed with a fastball that has touched 95 mph, but usually hovers in the 90- to 93-mph range, according to MLB.com. The 16-year-old also throws a curveball, slider and changeup.

The deal is reportedly worth $1.4 million.
