The 21-year-old slashed .242/.347/.335 with a home run and 13 RBI in 18 games before the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the rest of the NCAA season. The Longwood, Fla., native mainly played at second base, but also spent time at third base and in the outfield with Vanderbilt.
During the 2019 season, Ray led Vanderbilt with 21 stolen bases in 24 attempts and set the SEC Tournament championship game record with three doubles vs. Ole Miss.
Ray joins fellow teammate Austin Martin who was selected by Toronto with the fifth-overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft.
