Report: CC Sabathia finalizing deal with Yankees for one final season

Veteran pitcher CC Sabathia is finalizing a contract to play one final season with the New York Yankees, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

The contract will be worth $8 million according to Sherman.

The 2019 season will be Sabathia’s 19th in the majors and his 11th with the Yankees. He turns 39 in July.

For his career, which has also included stops in Milwaukee and Cleveland, Sabathia has a 246-153 record with a 3.70 ERA and 2,986 strikeouts. He won the 2007 American League Cy Young Award with the Indians.
