Retired seven-time NBA All-Star and former Toronto Raptor Tracy McGrady could be coming out of retirement.

Just not in the way you would expect.

According to a report from Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports the 34-year-old is “thinking about” giving professional baseball a shot.

A star high school baseball player growing up in his hometown of Auburndale, Florida, McGrady is looking to return to the diamond as a pitcher equipped with a fastball that can touch 91 MPH, according to Randy McIlvoy of KPRC-TV Houston — who cites a source from within the Texas-based Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.

In order to make this comeback happen McGrady has reportedly been working out with former Toronto Blue Jays ace Roger Clemens.

Throughout his NBA career, McGrady’s past athletic life came up now-and-then through local television commercials and interviews.

During his playing days, McGrady also organized charity softball games in the summer that saw other NBA players hit the diamond such as Steve Francis, J.R. Smith and even LeBron James.

Originally drafted by the Raptors in 1997, McGrady played 17 seasons in the NBA for seven different teams. His most successful stops came as a member of the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets. He retired at the end of the 2012-13 season as a member of the San Antonio Spurs where he came within one win away from capturing what would’ve been his first NBA championship.
