The Tampa Bay Rays are finalizing a minor-league deal with a camp invite with left-handed reliever Aaron Loup, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Loup was a ninth-round pick with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2009, and pitched seven seasons with the club before being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2018.

The 32-year-old signed with the San Diego Padres in 2019, but only appeared in four games before a season-ending elbow injury. The Padres declined their $2-million team option on Loup back in October.

Loup has a career ERA of 3.45 and 0.900 WHIP in 326 innings pitched over eight years in the majors.
