The San Diego Padres have signed right-handed pitcher Garrett Richards to a two-year contract, according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman.
Heyman later confirmed the financial terms of the deal.
Richards spent the first eight seasons of his Major League career with the Los Angeles Angeles, compiling a career record of 45-38, along with a 3.54 ERA.
The 30-year-old hurler has battled through injuries over the past three seasons, having only made 28 starts over that span. For reference, Richards started 32 games in the 2015 season, his last injury-free campaign.
Richards had his 2018 season cut short after undergoing Tommy John surgery and is expected to return to the mound in 2020.
