Starting pitcher Michael Pineda will reportedly re-sign with the Minnesota Twins on a two-year deal worth $20 million, according to FOX 9 Minnesota reporter Pierre Noujaim.

Pineda, a 30-year-old right-hander, was believed to be a strong free agent fit for the Toronto Blue Jays. He had a 4.01 ERA and an 8.6 strikeouts-per-nine rate in 26 starts for Minnesota in 2019, and was projected for a two-year, $22 million deal by MLB Trade Rumors.

Next year, Pineda won’t be available until May, as he serves the remainder of his 60-game ban for violating MLB’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
