The Texas Rangers are “making an aggressive push” to sign Josh Donaldson, according to USA TODAY’s Bob Nightengale.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan first reported the Rangers’ interest in the 2015 American League MVP on Nov. 8, but it appears Texas’s interest has amped up.

The former Toronto Blue Jays star is a free agent after enjoying a resurgent 2019 season with the Atlanta Braves. The 33-year-old Donaldson, who signed a one-year, $23-million contract in Atlanta last November, racked up 37 home runs and a .900 OPS in 155 games this past season.
