Another top-end catcher is off the MLB free agent board as Alex Avila has signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Twins worth $4.25 million, ESPN‘s Jeff Passan reports.

Avila, 32, played 63 games last season for the Arizona Diamondbacks, slashing .207/.353/.421 with nine home runs and 24 RBI.

The 11-year MLB veteran had a pair of stints on the injured list with ailments to his left calf and quadriceps.

He’s previously previously played with Detroit and both Chicago teams.

Other free agent names to get scooped up this off-season include Yasmani Grandal to the Chicago White Sox and Travis d’Arnaud to the Atlanta Braves.
