The Minnesota Twins have reached an agreement to acquire Jaime Garcia from the Atlanta Braves, according to reports. The Twins will be sending a minor-league player to Atlanta in return.

Garcia has logged 106 innings over 17 starts for the Braves in 2017, pitching to a 4.33 ERA. The left-hander has a 3.65 ERA over his nine-year career, the first eight of which were spent with the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 31-year-old Garcia is likely just a rental for the Twins since he is scheduled to hit free agency at the end of the year.

Minnesota currently trails the Cleveland Indians by half a game for first place in the American League Central. The Twins are also half a game back of the New York Yankees for the second wild-card position.
