Major League Baseball will test its players for COVID-19 multiple times per week should the league resume operations in the coming months, according to commissioner Rob Manfred.
Manfred outlined MLB’s plan during an appearance on CNN on Thursday.
In addition to the multiple tests per week, instant testing would be provided for anyone showing symptoms of the novel coronavirus. Players who test positive would be quarantined until testing negative twice.
The league has been in contact with the Players Association this week as the sides try to work out a plan for a return to play.
