Watch as Boston Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval dives to rob Dalton Pompey of the Toronto Blue Jays on a bunt attempt and in the process smacks his face on the turf.

BOSTON — Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval has left Wednesday’s game against Toronto with a sore neck.

Sandoval made a diving, belly-flop catch of Dalton Pompey’s soft liner on an attempted sacrifice in the fourth inning. After the grab, he stayed on his knees for a few seconds before getting up and remaining in the game.

He hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning before being replaced in the top of the sixth.

Allen Craig entered the game at first base, and Brock Holt moved from right to third. Daniel Nava, the starting first baseman, shifted to right.

The Blue Jays lead 5-3.
