Tigers fan taken away after being hit by foul ball in 8th inning

DETROIT — The Tigers’ game against the Texas Rangers was delayed for about seven minutes after a female fan was hit by a foul ball in the bottom of the eighth inning Friday night.

The woman, sitting behind the home team dugout, was hit by the ball off the bat of Detroit’s Anthony Gose. She was attended to by medical personnel and appeared to be alert as she was taken away strapped to a chair with a neck brace.

The Rangers lead 2-0.
