Tim Anderson takes shot at Stroman on social media, calls him ‘fake’

Benches cleared between the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago White Sox after Marcus Stroman and Tim Anderson exchanged some heated words.

Nearly a week after Marcus Stroman and Tim Anderson exchanged words, the aftermath continues to trickle out into social media.

The Chicago White Sox rookie shortstop already said he “doesn’t regret anything” from the benches-clearing drama that surfaced after Stroman struck him out in a game last Wednesday.

So when MLB’s official Instagram account posted a photo of the Toronto Blue Jays starter on Tuesday night with the caption, “Height Doesn’t Measure HYPE,” Anderson chimed in.

Anderson has over 24,000 Instagram followers and is active on social media, so he probably knows how the game works. It’s highly unlikely a comment on the MLB account, with its 3.4 million followers, would ever go unnoticed.

But he wasn’t the only one to subtly share his thoughts online. Stroman, who has a massive 493,000 Instagram following, ‘liked’ some blatant digs from fans directed at Anderson.

With fans feeding off the player’s accounts and getting in on the action, the proverbial social media benches have been cleared.
