Tim Tebow’s 2018 season is off to quite a start.
The former NFL quarterback and 2007 Heisman Trophy winner went yard in his season debut with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies – the double-A affiliate of the New York Mets – on Thursday.
Tebow finished his first full season of professional baseball with a .226/.309.347 slash line across two levels of single-A, but Mets general manager Sandy Alderson made headlines in February when he predicted the University of Florida graduate would eventually become a major-league player.
The 30-year-old had just eight home runs last season in 126 games.
