The New York Yankees have activated starting pitcher James Paxton from the team’s injured list ahead of Wednesday’s matinee against the San Diego Padres.
The left-hander is expected to start for New York in the interleague contest.
Paxton, 30, has been out of action since his last start on May 3 with left knee inflammation.
In seven starts so far in 2019 Paxton has pitched to a 3-2 record and 3.11 ERA, while recording 52 strikeouts and 13 walks in 37.2 innings.
