Canada fell just short of a second consecutive World Cup podium appearance on Sunday.
The national under-19 women's basketball team finished fourth in the biennial tournament after falling 70-68 against Spain in the bronze-medal game in Brno, Czechia.
Canada had a shot to tie the game in the final 10 seconds, but an Avery Howell layup attempt rimmed out.
Syla Swords, who competed on the senior team at the Paris Olympics, paced Canada with 20 points to go with eight rebounds while making eight of her 13 field-goal attempts.
Jasmine Bascoe had 14 points and Avery Howell chipped in with 11 to round out Canada's double-digit scorers.
Spain's Somtochukwu-Blessed Okafor led all players with 23 points while adding 11 rebounds for the double-double.
Canada was chasing its third medal of all-time at the tournament after earning bronze in 2023 and 2017.
The U.S. was set to face Australia in the gold-medal game.
