Bruno Caboclo took to Instagram to thank his fans and the city of Toronto on Saturday.
The 22-year-old forward was drafted in 2014 with the 20th overall pick and was seen as a long-term project who would potentially begin contributing at the start of next season.
With the performance of the other young players on the Raptors roster, though, Masai Ujiri deemed that it would be difficult to break through in the near future and traded him to the Sacramento Kings before Thursday’s trade deadline for guard Malachi Richardson.
Dear 6six, I just want to thank the @raptors organization, my teammates, coaches and fans for drafting me as a young kid, welcoming me and helping me grow. Toronto and its great people will always be in my heart. I have nothing but love and respect for you guys! The journey and the work continue for me!

Contrary to initial reports, the Kings will not waive the Brazilian, potentially giving him the opportunity to showcase his skills on an NBA court before his contract expires at the end of the season.
