Bulls’ Rose will ‘go at’ anyone, even his mom

Brenda Rose, Derrick Rose’s mom, better hope she never has to face off against her son on the hardcourt.

Following a training camp session on Wednesday, the Chicago Bulls star point guard was clearly pretty amped up, choosing to express his trademark killer instinct in an… interesting manner.

“I’m a guy where whoever is on the court, I’m going to go at them,” Rose told the Chicago Tribune. “If it’s my teammates … it could be my mom on the court. She’s going to get killed. I couldn’t care less. For me, I’m just trying to build that mentality that I don’t care who is out there. I’m going to play the same way.”

Rose is returning from an entire season off that he spent recovering from surgery to repair the ACL in his left knee. His decision to sit out all of the 2012-13 season met with controversy after he was medically cleared to play in early March.

The 2011 MVP appears good to go now, however and is expected to play in Chicago’s pre-season opener against the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

No word on whether Brenda will make her son pay for his matricidal comments by suiting up for the Pacers.
