Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will replace Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Rose at the NBA All-Star Skills Challenge.

Rose, who won the 2009 event as an NBA rookie with the Chicago Bulls, will miss the competition due to an adductor strain.

Gilgeous-Alexander will also suit up for the World Team in the NBA Rising Stars Game. The 21-year-old from Canada leads the Thunder in scoring at 19.5 points per game, and also contributes 6.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

The Skills Challenge is part of All-Star Saturday on Feb. 15 in Chicago.
