Canadian forward Justin Jackson was taken in the second round, 43rd overall, by the Denver Nuggets and was then traded to the Orlando Magic Thursday night at the NBA Draft.
The Magic traded No. 41 pick Jarred Vanderbilt and a future second-rounder to acquire Jackson.
A native of Toronto, Jackson played two seasons at the the University of Maryland that saw him average 10.5 points per game in 33 games played in his freshman season and 9.8 in a sophomore year where he only got into 11 games because of a torn labrum in his right shoulder that he suffered in December.
Jackson joins a Magic team with one other Canadian in Khem Birch.
Earlier on Thursday, fellow Canuck Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was taken 11th overall by the Charlotte Hornets but was shortly flipped to the Los Angeles Clippers.
