Canadian guard Luguentz Dort has signed a multi-year contract extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Dort, 21, signed a two-way contract with the Thunder as an undrafted free agent last season. His two-way contract would have made him ineligible for the playoffs this season and he would have become a free agent at the end of the season.

After opening the season with the G-League’s Oklahoma City Blue, Dort made his NBA debut in December and quickly became a starter for the Thunder.
The Montreal-native appeared in 29 games for the Thunder, including 21-consecutive starts before the season was paused by the pandemic. The Thunder went 16-5 in games Dort started and, according to the team, no player has started more consecutive games on a two-way contract.
In those games, he averaged 6.2 points and 1.9 rebounds while shooting .414 from the field.
The Thunder are one of 22 teams that will participate in the NBA’s return to play games in Orlando at the end of July, begging play as the fifth-seed in the Western Conference.
