The Los Angeles Clippers guard from Hamilton was selected to the second team.
The first team includes rookie-of-the-year frontrunners Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks. Deandre Ayton, a 2018 No. 1 pick by the Phoenix Suns, the Memphis Grizzlies‘ Jaren Jackson Jr., and Sacramento Kings centre Marvin Bagley III round out the first team.
Joining Gilgeous-Alexander on the second team is Clippers teammate Landry Shamet, Collin Sexton of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the New York Knicks‘ Mitchell Robinson and the Hawks’ Kevin Huerter.
Gilgeous-Alexander, the the No. 11 pick of the 2018 draft, finished his rookie campaign with averages of 10.8 points and 3.3 assists primarily as the Clippers’ starting point guard. In six post-season games, the 20-year-old averaged 13.7 points and 3.2 assists.
