Cleveland Cavaliers star forward Kevin Love left Wednesday’s game against the Boston Celtics with an apparent right ankle injury and did not return.
Love was defending Boston forward Al Horford midway through the second quarter and appeared to roll his ankle when trying to grab a rebound. He was able to walk to the locker room under his own power.
Entering Wednesday’s contest, Love was Cleveland’s second leading scorer and top rebounder, averaging 20.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game on 47.5 per cent shooting and 41.8 per cent from three.
There’s been no word yet if the 29-year-old four-time all-star will will be forced to miss more time due to the injury.
Love scored only two points, going 1-for-11 from the field in the Cavaliers’ 102-88 loss to the Celtics Wednesday.
