Stoudemire deal to Cavs in the works?

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns are working on a trade that would send All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire from Phoenix to Cleveland, according to ESPN sources.

Cleveland would ship Zydrunas Ilgauskas and J.J. Hickson to the Suns in exchange for Stoudemire.

Cleveland is believed to be in talks with several teams, but it is believed that Stoudemire is their first choice.

If the Cavs can complete the deal, many feel that that will go a long way to having superstar LeBron James re-sign with the club when he becomes a free agent this summer. ESPN says the Cavs are also prepared to sign Stoudemire, who has one year and $17 million US remaining on his contract, to a long-term contract extension once the season ends.
