Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart will miss the next six-eight weeks after having surgery on his right thumb.

Smart hasn’t played since injuring his thumb in Sunday’s game against the Indiana Pacers.

Smart, 23, is averaging 10.2 points, 4.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds this season, mostly coming off the bench.

He joins a long list of injured Celtics players, including Gordon Hayward (broken leg), Jaylen Brown (concussion) and Kyrie Irving (knee soreness).
