The Boston Celtics have waived recently-acquired forward Donte Greene.
The Celtics shipped 2012 first-round pick Fab Melo and cash considerations to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Greene on August 15.
The decision to waive Greene’s non-guaranteed contract allows Boston to get under the luxury tax line for next season.
Hoopshype.com reports that Greene is expected to sign on with a team in China next season.
The Grizzlies waived Melo on Sept. 1. The Brazilian centre will go to training camp with the Dallas Mavericks.
