Stephen Curry‘s popularity continues to reach new heights, with his jersey from Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals setting a new record for a game-worn item auctioned by the NBA, according to ESPN.
The jersey, once worn by the now two-time NBA champion, was sold Thursday for $135,060, surpassing the old record of $100,040 that was paid for Kobe Bryant’s jersey from his last All-Star game.
It’s no secret that Curry is one of the most popular players in the world, with him also topping the NBA’s jersey sales from April through June.
But this record does come as a bit of a surprise considering Kevin Durant‘s jersey from Game 3 of the NBA Finals was also sold that night for a price of $71,260. While Curry did have a great game, Durant was the star of the night – hitting the most important shot to give the Warriors a 3-0 series lead.
Other jerseys from Game 3 that were also sold on Thursday included LeBron James‘ for $92,020, and Andre Iguodala‘s for $31,706.
