NBA players complaining about their NBA 2K ratings has become an annual tradition around this time of year.
NBA 2K18 hit shelves today, allowing the first glimpse of ratings for all NBA rosters. The player ratings are based on an algorithm that factors in roughly 50 individual attributes. It might not exactly be the most accurate representation of how players are valued around the NBA, but fans tend to care about them, too.

Players and fans alike may have mixed feelings when looking at the Toronto Raptors overall ratings heading into the 2017-18 season. The team has four players rated 80 or higher, and a glut of young talent rated in the low 70s.
The ratings are regularly updated throughout the NBA season, with players’ attributes rising or falling in concert with how they’re performing in real life. Players like Delon Wright and Jakob Poeltl will have to— and probably will— outplay their ratings, as the Raptors will be forced to lean on their inexperienced bench throughout the season.
In Canada, DeMar DeRozan graces the cover and, for the second year in a row, is the highest-rated Raptor.
