Drake, Will Ferrell chirp DeRozan, give lesson on handshakes

A recap of what went down at the first ever NBA Awards including Russell Westbrook winning the MVP, Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni winning his 2nd Coach of the year award and Bill Russell taking home the lifetime achievement award.

The NBA Awards got off to a hilarious start with its opening skit.

In it, comedian Will Ferrell and music superstar Drake gave a gym full basketball players a lesson on showmanship.

That group of players included a skeptical Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan, who was mocked relentlessly for his first pun-malleable first name and insistence on “getting back on defence.”

Drake and Ferrell proceeded to demonstrate several inventive handshakes, with each succeeding its predecessor in levels of absurdity. Have a watch below:
