Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey is still thinking about his team’s three-point shooting woes.

Casey made an appearance on Tuesday night’s edition of The Starters to discuss the NBA Finals and the Raptors. When asked what tangible results he wants to see next season, Casey made it clear that the Raptors need to focus more on their three-point shooting after getting swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in this year’s Eastern Conference semifinals.

“Shooting the three-ball is going to be our top priority on the court,” said Casey.

“Making sure we make the three-ball a big part of our game. And not necessarily shooting more threes, but less none paint twos. And It’s hard to say, knowing one of our best players (DeMar DeRozan) is one of the best at doing it.”

Toronto shot just 27.3 per cent on wide-open looks against the defending NBA champions.

Casey acknowledged that DeRozan, an all-star shooting guard, has become better at creating three-point looks for his teammates. But the Raptors bench boss is now looking for the team’s younger players to step up from beyond the arc.

Casey talked briefly about his meet up with free-agent Kyle Lowry in California, saying they had an “excellent dinner” that included conversation about the team’s past and future.

Casey also talked to the Starters about how the Raptors need to continue building on their culture while also rebooting their roster and making sure they re-sign their free agents, including Lowry, Serge Ibaka, P.J. Tucker and Patrick Patterson.
