Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade made the days of some brave students a little brighter when he visited Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Wednesday.
Students and faculty members tweeted videos and photos of the NBA veteran greeting them at lunch time and showing his support for the important impact they’re making in the aftermath of the tragic school shooting that killed 17 and injured many others.
Much appreciation goes out to @DwyaneWade for visiting our school and showing his support. Changing the world, one dribble at a time. #MarchForOurLives pic.twitter.com/BDjXqxNluP

Wade, who has been a prominent supporter of the students and the healing community, dedicated the remainder of his season to Joaquin Oliver, one of the students killed in the shooting, who was buried in Wade’s jersey.
Wade tweeted about the visit later on Wednesday, which marked the first full day back in classes for students.
I just had a great conversation with some of the students at Stoneman Douglas High School about some important/impactful things that they have planned. I’m looking forward to being more involved in the change that they WILL create. #MSDStrong
