NBA players could soon be playing for Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr.
The superstar boxer, who just recently stepped out of retirement to arrange a fight with Conor McGregor, seems to have other things on his mind, posting this caption to go along with an Instagram photo of himself and Magic Johnson earlier Thursday:
“Just had a great meeting with @magicjohnson. It’s about time for me to buy an NBA team, if you’re ready to sell your NBA team, please get in touch with me.”
To go along with his 49-0 record in the ring, Mayweather is also known for his business endeavours and love for gambling.
In 2016, Forbes reported that Mayweather holds a net worth of $340 million, with a majority of his earnings coming from the time he spent assembling his still perfect record, and his own promotional firm Mayweather Promotions.
Mayweather, who is often seen court side at NBA games, could become just the fourth professional athlete to own a share of an NBA franchise, joining Michael Jordan, Grant Hill and Shaquille O’Neal.
