Spend enough time in NBA locker rooms and you’re bound to hear the same questions (and answers) over and over: “How does you feel after that win/loss?”, “What percent did you give out there?” To change it up every once in a while, we sit down with NBA players to ask the important questions in our interview series, Free Association.

In the hot seat this time around: Ty Lawson, Denver Nuggets point guard.

SN: Club sandwich or BLT?

TL: BLT.

What’s the coolest basketball shoe ever made?

I’m not really into basketball shoes. I’ll say Air Bud’s.

What’s the best thing a fan has ever yelled at you?

At me? They keep it simple. Probably just: “You suck.”

If you competed in track and field, what event are you most confident you’d win?

I’d have to go with the 100-yard dash.

Which of your Nuggets teammates would provide the biggest competition?

Kenneth Faried.

If you were on Shark Tank what would your pitch to the investors be?

What am I pitching? Man, I’d go up and tell them, “Hey just give me $500,000. I’ll make it work and get it back to ya.”

When was the last time you cried watching a movie?

I never cried watching a movie. [Nuggets forward Darrell Arthur, listening in: “Aw man that’s not true. He’s cried at a movie before, I seen it. It was Bambi.”]

If you were a pro wrestler what would your entrance music be?

“Don’t Panic” by Rick Ross.

What’d you think about Slamball? Cool, or too gimmicky?

It was cool. I always wanted to jump off trampolines.

What’s your favourite Ron Artest name: Metta World Peace or Panda’s Friend?

Panda’s Friend.

If you changed your name, Artest-style, what would you change it to?

Chico the Don.

What’s your favourite amusement park ride?

Joker’s Jinx. It’s at Six Flags.

If the Nuggets held an NBA2K tournament, who would win?

A 2K tourney? I’m going to have to go with Nate [Robinson]. Definitely not D.A.

Last one: How many pushups can you do in a row ?

200. Yeah, let’s go with that.
