There aren’t many options for an NBA team inbounding the ball with 0.2 seconds left on the shot clock.
But the Utah Jazz proved there is at least one.
Late in the third quarter against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Utah’s Gordon Hayward inbounded the ball to teammate Trevor Booker, who quickly tipped the ball over his head and into the basket to beat the shot clock.
What makes this play even better is that the NBA rulebook requires a minimum of 0.3 seconds on the clock to complete a legal shot, but because he never used a full catch and release motion the bucket counted.
Well played, Jazz. Well played.
