It was Kobe Bryant night on Monday at the Air Canada Centre and just about every Toronto Raptors player was thrilled to play the man himself one final time.
Well, with the exception of one player.
Jonas Valanciunas has been out with a hand injury for a little over two weeks and was unable to take part in all the Bryant festivities, mainly because of Bryant.
You may recall the Raptors centre got hurt on Nov. 21 going up for a dunk that the Los Angeles Lakers legend tried to contest and ended up nailing his left hand, instead of the ball, that resulted in Valanciunas banging his hand against the rim.
Despite all that, it looks like there are no hard feelings between Valanciunas and Bryant as the big Lithuanian tweeted out a photo Monday night of a signed cast from Bryant that says, “Sorry for the break my brother stay strong!”
Bryant wasn’t only handing out gifts of sort on Monday as he also was the recipient of a special package from the Raptors that included a gold pair of shoes and a “Black Mamba” hat.
The Raptors have experienced a rash of injuries of late, with Valanciunas and, most recently, DeMarre Carroll and Lucas Nogueira all missing time.
